Ana Maria Garcia-Collazo, Ph.D. VP Research & Site Leader Dr. Ana Maria Garcia-Collazo has served as head of research since March 2019. Dr. Garcia-Collazo has over 20 years of experience in directing research groups through the drug discovery process in additional to being a senior medicinal chemist. Prior to joining Gain, she was head of medical chemistry and process chemistry at Minoryx where she contributed to the development of the clinical candidate MIN-102 for potential use in X-ALD treatment. She developed her career in drug discovery unit of the Spanish National Institute for Cancer Research as well as Karo Bio, where she served as a senior research scientist. Dr. Garcia-Collazo has co-authored more than 40 scientific publications and patents. Dr. Garcia-Collazo received a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from Santiago de Compostela University and was a post-doctoral Marie Curie Research Fellow in the group of the Nobel Prize winner Prof. Jean-Marie Lehn at Université Louis Pasteur.
