We are looking for an Administrative Assistant to support Gain Therapeutics employees in Barcelona in general administrative activities.

Main Responsibilities And Duties:

  • Manage purchase requests, orders, and purchases

  • Assist in shipment of goods from and towards the company

  • Create, maintain, and update databases and power point and spreadsheet files

  • Manage calendars, assist in meeting deadlines, screen incoming calls and correspondence

  • Arrange events and conferences

  • Organize travel plans and itineraries, compile documents for travelrelated meetings for supervisors when requested, submit and coordinate T&E Reimbursements

  • Support laboratory and office maintenance

Essential Requirements:

  • FP grade

  • At least 3 years administrative experience in a professional environment

  • Strict attention to detail

  • Advanced skills in MS Office (Outlook, Word, Power Point, and Excel), Teams and SharePoint.

Research Software Engineer

Offer Description:

We are looking for a dynamic and motivated individual for a project-based position as Research Software Engineer to architecture, design, and implement a computational framework to improve our SEE-Tx platform by automatizing and extending its capabilities. SEE-Tx is GAIN’s proprietary computational platform that aims at discovering new binding sites and find the right small molecules to modify the target protein activity by combining using different molecular simulation methods in HPC facilities. 

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement the required infrastructure to extend, automate and facilitate the usage of the scientific software behind SEE-Tx platform.

  • Adjust existing software (C++, python), if needed, to meet the new infrastructure demands.

  • Design and implement other company scientific software requirements.

  • Support actively good spirit and collaboration within the team and the entire organization.

Essential Requirements:

  • +3 years of experience as software developer for research and scientific software. Proficient in Python and desirable experience in other programming languages (e.g. C++).

  • Experience in software architecture, design and implementation.

  • Experience applying software development best practices.

  • Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC) and/or Cloud infrastructures.

  • Good written and oral communication skills; enthusiasm, self-motivation, strong interpersonal skills, ability to interact within a multidisciplinary team.

Additional Skills:

  • Experience with molecular simulations and virtual screening tools is a big plus.

Chemoinformatician / Machine Learning Scientist

Offer Description:

We are seeking a computational scientist with solid background on machine learning applied to small molecule drug discovery, eager to pursue/consolidate a career in computer-aided drug design. The work involves data management and data analysis to support all stages of the drug discovery process. The candidate will participate in the extension of our proprietary HPC-based SEE-Tx technology by implementing different ML-based methods in the workflow. 

Essential Requirements:

The ideal candidate holds a PhD, optionally with 2-3 years of post-doc experience, has a solid understanding of data science and its application to the fields of biology, chemistry and/or drug discovery. Demonstrated experience in the use of machine learning methods in chemoinformatics and managing complex data is essential. 

The ability to deal with multiple tasks and deliver results in a timely manner is a must. Equally important, the selected candidate will be able to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team, will be proactive in the identification of tasks to support the project and will communicate the results in a clear and effective manner. 

The following specific skills are considered essential. The candidate should be proficient on most of them, and will be able to master the rest in a short amount of time. 

  • Advanced programming skills (Python required)

  • Experience with machine learning (including Deep Learning) frameworks.

  • Development of Quantitative Structure-Activity Relationships.

  • Development of ADMET and PK data models.

  • Basic understanding of the medicinal chemistry principles.

Additional Competences:

Experience in molecular simulations and structure-based ligand design. Knowledge of adjacent scientific areas, such as structural biology, medicinal chemistry, molecular biology, pharmacology, etcetera, will facilitate the integration in multidisciplinary teams.

Finance Director, Corporate Reporting

Essential Functions:

  • Manage the preparation of annual and quarterly financial statements, in accordance with US GAAP for external reporting on Form 10-Q and Form 10-K

  • Manage the preparation of the subsidiaries annual statutory financial statements

  • Maintain a thorough understanding of GAAP reporting and other disclosure requirements and assist in accounting research related to new and existing accounting pronouncements

  • Oversee the preparation of material for inclusion in the quarterly Audit Committee presentation

  • Provide guidance to operational finance teams to ensure significant transactions are properly accounted for and disclosed

  • Maintain appropriate SOX process and control documentation, ensuring the proper design and execution of internal controls and assists in the coordination of SOX control

  • Liaise with external auditors to ensure that consolidated external reporting, including the financial statements are reviewed and filed within deadlines

  • Effectively lead and develop staff and work in a collaborative environment

  • Work individually and as part of a team to generate efficiency in the use of Finance related IT systems, utilising the ERP and consolidation systems to their full potential

  • Oversee the company’s US and EU tax compliance obligations to ensure timely and accurate filings. Coordinate with external tax preparers and respond to information requests.

  • Assist with the monitoring and reconciliation of intercompany accounting to ensure proper legal entity results and global transfer pricing compliance.

  • Oversee with quarterly and year end income tax provision matters under ASC 740 and ensure Internal Controls are being followed as documented.

  • Oversee the timely reconciliation of tax accounts for US and EU entity data.

  • Utilize tax research skills and materials to develop technical arguments to support filing positions, defend audit questions, and manage risks.

  • Other ad hoc duties/projects as may arise

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5-7 years of post-qualification relevant work experience

  • Strong technical knowledge of US GAAP, IFRS and SOX

  • Experience in transfer pricing is beneficial

  • Experience in a corporate Tax department or equivalent experience with a major accounting firmis beneficial

Post-doctoral Researcher

Gain Therapeutics is looking for a Post-doctoral researcher to work on molecular modelling and in silico drug discovery. The candidate will implement and improve several molecular-dynamics based methodologies and apply them to the internal drug discovery projects.

Main tasks and responsibilities

  • Structure based In silico methods to predict binding affinity

  • Structure based Hit-to-lead in silico optimization of the drugs

Requirements

  • PhD in a topic related to in silico drug discovery.

  • Knowledge in structure based molecular modelling and in silico drug discovery, experience in computational simulation of small-molecules and biological macromolecules using a variety of theoretical approaches such as virtual screening, Molecular Dynamics simulations.

  • English proficiency.
